Third Party Liability insurance provides coverage for the liability the law imposes on the "insured" for bodily injury or death of any persons, or damage to their property arising out of the ownership, use or operation of an automobile. This liability is stated in the Highway Traffic Act. In Ontario, the minimum liability limit as required by law is $200,000.
The "Insured" can be the person named on the policy, a person that drives the vehicle with the consent of the named insured, or anyone who operates a part of a vehicle such as a door with consent.
